I love New Yorkers. They’re straightforward and they tell it like it is. As a speaker, I always know where I stand with a NY audience. In this short video post, I explore the New York mentality as it relates to mental toughness. Watch this clip and decide if you are New York tough!

HEY! HEY! DO YOU HAVE A PERMIT TO FILM HERE???!!!!!
I’m not convinced the generalizations you make about New York critical thinking and decison making are accurate – I’m not convinced they’re not. Consider those fast paced people having to make quick decions a product of their environment using emotion in a way most of us don’t so that what you think is critical thinking void of emotion driven passion is actually emotion driven passion used in a way that works in that environment.
Is it critical thinking born of confidence or snap decisions born of necessity or not even critical thinking but critical responding and decision making that becomes a habit. Maybe that does produce a habit of conficence.
I can make snap decisons, often I don’t because I am taking other opinions into account. But when I have to I do and I’m not afraid of failing, mostly – I’ve always been quick to recoup.
But living a life rebounding isn’t the way one ought to live.
OK – great post as usual Steve – what do you think of my analysis?
Take a bite out of the Big Apple, Steve, and make ’em even tougher!

I spent the majority of my carrer woking in and around NYC tri-state area. Making a decision in the heat of the battle in NYC is akin to hailing a cab in NYC. Having an assetive personality usually takes the ride.
