One of the things that drives me nuts about personal development gurus; religious leaders, life coaches, psychologists and other advice-based experts is when they tell you how your should live your life. Its as if they possess information that you don’t; or that they are more intelligent in some way. I saw one the other day where some guy is conducting a course on how to me a real man. Seriously? The audacity of some of these people is only exceeded my the size of their own egos. Watch this short (2:47) video about living on your terms and being happy. I’ll look forward to your comments.

Well said Steve, get to know yourself and then use the information, from people who know what their talking about, the works for you.

Couldn’t agree more Steve. I am a practicing psychologist and I am increasingly frustrated with the “instant therapy” trend of telling people how to live rather than helping them find their own best way to live. Call me old fashioned but I believe true mastery is the satisfaction in living in one’s own wisdom, integrity, and self respect. But of course, helping people achieve true mastery (as you know) takes time, commitment, wisdom, and patience. Sadly, “instant” seems far more lucrative.
Thanks, Stephanie! I appreciate your thoughts.
