The most successful people have the largest networks of powerful people who can help them. While the average person is randomly passing out business cards and enduring endless networking mixers, the smartest business people target the rich and powerful in an attempt infiltrate their inner circle. This is not to be confused with social climbing or using people. It’s done with the sole purpose of a developing a long-term, symbiotic relationship with people who have substantial contacts, credibility, and influence in the marketplace. Neither life nor business is a level playing field, and the most strategic people end up winning most of the time. I’ve said this for years in TV, radio, and print interviews and have been lambasted by viewers, listeners and readers for promoting such a cold, calculated strategy. The truth is it’s simply a matter of watching what the most successful people do and copying it. Some people may criticize you for adopting this strategy, and that’s why you must be mentally tough enough to ignore them. Watch this 4:53 segment from my national TV show, Mental Toughness with Steve Siebold, and see what you think. This one strategy catapulted my business and income in the first 12 months I implemented it. There are few strategy’s I’ve seen that will have a more dramatic effect on your income.
