Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die! And the list goes on. We’ve all heard this question before, but it’s one worth pondering. I think that you asked a better question in the video, and that was “do you know what the price is?”
Few people do.
I’d go so far as to say that if many people had it to over again, knowing now just what that price turned out to be, they never would have started down that road.
What suggestions can you offer on how to discover what that price is likely to be?
How much of a price am I ready to pay for sucess, how much pain I am ready to endure to reach my destination ?..What price, what pain ?…To me ”Paying a price” is for anything done against one’s will…I’ll replace ”price” and ”pain” by ”Staying focused ”( for what? = your goals ) on a daily basis which requires a daily plan …not the one you devise in the morning as you get out of bed , the one you plan at the end of the day for the next day, the one you go to bed with…It’s my approach…It helps me with assessing what I have accomplished today ( towards my goals), kicks me in the rear end if I come to the conclusion that I have slacked off ( unless it was planned as a day of rest …) and questions me about tomorrow…”Am I going to do it or not, am I going to go through the motion or not, am I ready to accept the physical ( i am growing older / worn off parts ) and mental pain (fatigue makes cowards of us all – Vince Lombardi)” or not ( I struggle at times like most of us all)…and then, from time to time, I go and measure myself against a couple of thousand people…
I pretty well know the ”price” I have to pay everyday for the milestones I want to reach in life in the same way that I pretty well know what I have to do to stay fit, which, in my case, is a pre requisite to all the rest ( receipe is simple “Swim, bike, run. Repeat” )
I feel that to perform in life, to aim at success whether at home, at work or on the field, one needs a high level of awareness, an energy production engine and energy reserves at all times, all a must! … The unknown scares me at times ( I’m not alone)…every time I have stepped into it (by choice, most of the time ), it was no longer an unknown, just something to be assessed and conquered!
All that to say that I view aches and pains ( The Price) as a reminder of how life is great and how fortunate I am to have such a life !

Yes, I can pay the price.
I “double dated” with Arnold and his producer on a show (Arnold dated my girlfirend:)
and found him to be exquistely courteous and great fun. Lately I have read about
his continued zest for life and upped my exercise program ! I wonder how he learned all he knew at such a young age, how he figured it all out? He must have had some great mentors.
“177” is a part of my life, along with the affirmations, and with “How Rich Peole Think”. I like Steve’s take it or leave it approach. I am so surprised the “177” has
only sold 100,000 copies. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what great value
it is. These writings have raised my awareness high and my biggest question is
how can I continually raise my awareness? I see people in the streets and in my
life more symathetically since I realized that they were operating on a totally different
plane than those of us who have had exposure to the GoveSiebold programme or better education of any sort. I read a lot of biographies now of first rate characters and thinkers to make sure I amalwyas in the copany of world class people.
The Colorado shooting of late at Batman film, the PennState scandal are two examples of mass torpor and lack of awareness. We have got to change. More public debate and less dumbing down. Television has a lot to answer for.
Here is what I have learned:
Teach them to dream. Show them your dream. Help guide them though the maze to success. Let it be their dream. Let it be their direction. Let them make the choices. Let them take the responsibility for their new ideas. Give them positive encouragement at every turn.
They can develop their own obsession. Someone wrote in a previous blog that carrying an obsession too far may cause insanity.
I find myself always teaching by dictating solutions instead of developing in others a skill to cause them to be independent thinkers. Dictating in the long run causes resentment instead of a cooperative spirit.
Einstein’s detractors who were unable to understand his motives called him crazy. They had a fear of new ideas on how to reach the ultimate.
Being in the fight business, everyone says they want to be the world champion. I see it day in and day in and day out negotiating the price. I never heard it referred to as “negotiating” but that makes the most sense. If you want to be the best in the world you have to be crazy people are going to think you are nuts. You are so different from the others if this is truly your goals you will work so hard you seem crazy. You do what so many others that are not willing to pay the price will do other will say you are wacky.
Doing what others won’t do and paying the price is without a doubt two of the most important things when trying to achieve world class success.
I have worked to rid my life of the fear of success. This has been harder than I thought I would be. It’s easy to dream and construct goals, but much harder to let go of the edge, pay the price and swim toward the middle. I decided a little over a year ago that I would do whatever it takes to make my vision a success. Since then, I have been amazed at what can happen when you decide to pay the price. Taking that first step is definitely the hardest part, but well worth it.
At one time to enter a room or speak in front of a group of any size use to put me in a state of panic. By reading, listening and relearning ,I now look forward to doing motivational speaking. Please keep up the good work, Your work could empty may hospital beds.There is to many people that do not believe in the I can do it of life. Let,s stop being negative, reach out and form a different world.

A famous motivational speaker, who is a member of the advisory staff for this Siebold’s Mental Toughness program, writes that true motivation is unwavering. It cannot be crushed. He tells a story about a boy who wanted to kiss his schoolmate so bad, he would cut the top off his father’s car if that pleased his girlfriend.

Summary: You can do anything you want to do if you are motivated sufficiently.
We are all paying a price based on our choices. If we choose to do nothing, there is a price to pay. I believe if we have to pay either way, success is far more rewarding than doing nothing. Paying the price for what you want is only the journey and should deter you from going for the gold.
You are where you are by the choices that you make!
It’s weird but lately I have been founding the same question again again, and now it just came to my inbox! And what a great question it is!
I would make one change to your question – Are you willing to pay the “Unknown Cost” for success. If there was a formula or a procedure or any identifiable process that was definite, and success was at the other end, more people would make a known sacrifice. What stops most people is the unknown, never really knowing if they will get to, last until or even deserve the much desire success.
Many of us over time Redefine our success goals, to meet our currents standing. This in one stroke takes the pressure off, allows us to be happier, and also removes the guilt for not continuing the sacrifices that are required.
Also, wanting a success which you are not capable of achieving, is the first step towards the potential for personal ethical challenges.
The one thing that came to mind as I was watching the video, was the thought that often we cannot foresee the price we will have to pay to reach our dream. I think all of us would like to, but that is the point of the journey. We have to take a step out into the dark and be willing to face what it takes to get there no matter what it is when it hits us. no matter how much fun your work is, there is always a price to pay. Maybe less TV and internet, maybe less vacation, less sport or less family time. Without being willing to sacrifies soemthing in your life, there is no way to greatness and success.
It is easy to figure the percentage of people, who are unwilling to pay the price (which can be differently defined for each individual): All those who are not successful, who are not part of the 1%.
Is it fun to sacrifies: most of the time yes. Is it necessary to sacrifies: always.

Pretty cool the whole Arnold thing! I’ve been a National level body-builder for over 20 years and always find it amazing how many people start to prepare for shows and then on the day of the show, 90% have given up and or showed up so un-prepaired!

Already doing it. It’s just a natural part of my life now.
I am not willing to pay the price for success. Success is free. What is tedious for some, is fun for others. The goal of success and the road to success is the success. Feel small success now. It’s great. You can’t do anything about the past, take care of today’s needs and the future will take care of itself.
