Great salespeople and entrepreneurs have used this little known psychological secret for years. It can make or break you as salesperson or entrepreneur. I’ve spoken about this phenomena onstage all over the world for 13 years, and only a small percentage of audience members have ever heard of it. If you’re struggling in business due to the fear of rejection, this post has the power to change your life. Am I exaggerating? Listen and decide for yourself. I’ll look forward to your comments. You are a treasure Steve! Thanks for the Systematic Desensitization 4-1-1 – it is a powerful tool for the mentally tough, the entrepreneurs and my clients, people in career transition.
I love all the Mental Toughness Secrets and appreciate your sharing. Good luck with the new book.

Hi Steve,
This idea of systematic desensitization is a good. One possible theory on how it works is that has you do the thing you fear, your brain has more references to help form a new belief about what will happen.
I’ve been out of the loop on your blog for a while. Glad I’m back in it. Watched a couple of your episodes on TSTN last night, about networking and 10 world class beliefs and found them on your blog. I’m putting together a power programming guide and will review those beliefs daily.
I’m sure we’ll connect in person soon.
Warm Regards,
James Rick

What’s Yours?
Ond of the gals I’ve worked with in our business needed to overcome what you call the accumulated delusions of negative past experiences – I think I just morphed my words and yours together, Steve – so I challenged her to making a hundred calls in three days, which she did. These were cold calls and after that she was fine – systematically desensitized. She had been working on this for some time so it just didn’t happen in those three days.
What I do is a combination of what your audio is about along w/personal mentoring that has two parts:
1. reinforcement using positive affirmations and teaching the person how to do that daily and create a habit;
and 2. helping the person uncover two things that work together to create highly energized emotion driven activity:
A. something that has produced a lot of pain present or past the person wants to eliminate
and B. something the person accomplished – usually in pre teen or teen years – that produced a lot of pleasure and represents the person’s core ability to succeed.
All of that is directed toward one large vision or goal[s] – what one intends to accomplish – all working together to create the desired effect.
It’s pulling together the things you teach, Steve.
Thanks for another great audio.
Mike
Steve,
You’ve done it again. You’re absolutely right about Systematic Desensitization. When you continuously get rejected, after a while, you don’t feel rejected.
This is another example why I think your so successful. I know you call them “Secrets”, but actually, they’re principles, or facts. Your coaching is so valuable because these facts…have been a secret to many of us.
Thanks again.
