Steve Siebold’s USA TODAY Editorial Rebuttal: Should Ministers Be Doling Out Marriage Advice?

I just submitted my 250 word rebuttal to an editorial written about what God wants us to do in our marriages. Two ministers from different churches advising people on God’s wishes. I’d like to know where they’re getting their information. It’s not from the Bible. The good book was even written long before the institution of marriage was created. No, I’m afraid this is the work of man-made religion and has nothing to do with God. Before you start throwing rocks at me I ask that you listen to this post. I’m not slamming God. I’m a person of faith and

Outrage over Obama’s Back to School Speech Defies Critical Thinking

Like many American’s, I’m infuriated over President Obama’s fiscal agenda. I think this guy is a socialist. I also think he’s one of the smartest people in Washington. Thousands of people around the country kept their kids out of school yesterday because President Obama was delivering a motivational speech to schools across the country via the internet. I read the speech, and it was brilliantly written. It had nothing to do with healthcare reform or anything  on the administrations agenda. It was a motivating, inspiring speech to help kids, period. Every school kid should have heard that speech, but they didn’t

Good Morning America interviews Steve Siebold

I just returned from being interviewed on Good Morning America in New York City, and i was really impressed with what a great job they did. Of all the TV interviews I’ve  done on Mental Toughness, I like this one the best. They just posted the interview on the ABC NEWS website at http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=8437186 I’ll look forward to your comments. Steve Siebold

Europe is just as delusional about weight loss as America

I just returned from conducting the Bill Gove Speech Workshop in London, where I also did five national interviews on my new book, Die Fat or Get Tough: 101 Differences in Thinking Between Fat People and Fit People. It was an honor to be on the world-famous BBC network, but what I found was the Europeans are just as delusional about being fat as Americans are. What is the deal with delusional thinking on this subject? It’s amazing how otherwise smart, educated people around the world can get fat and blame everything outside of themselves for their failure. I’m getting death

Self-Delusion is the Problem…Mental Toughness is the Answer

After being interviewed last Tuesday on the Today Show, FOX Atlanta, and NBC Australia, I’ve received THOUSANDS of emails…in addition to the massive numbers the networks have received. Bottom line: delusional thinking is FAR worse than I thought; at least around the btopic of weight loss and fitness. About 50% of the emails love the premise of self-responsibility, and the other half want to continue to blame everyone and everything but themselves. You can see the Today Show and FOX  interviews on www.diefatbook.com My challenge to you is to listen to this post and see if you’re deluding yourself in some

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Interview Steve Siebold on NBC’s Today Show Tuesday, August 4, at 10:30am EST

I’m headed to New York to be a guest on the NBC’s Today Show. My good friend Mark Victor Hansen was thier guest today, and he was dynamite as usual. The interview started out being centered around my new book, Die Fat or Get Tough: 101 Differences in Thinking Between Fat People and Fit People. There have been dozens of news stories written about the book around the country, and many of them have chosen to demonize the messenger instead of evaluating the message. This is classic middle class thinking, which the press is not immune to. That being said, I’m

Mental Toughness/Critical Thinking Question: Is it really possible to live an Unrestricted Existence?

In Ayn Rand’s famous novel ” The Fountainhead” she talks about living what she calls an “unrestricted existence”. I read this years ago and it became the centerpiece of my life’s vision. Imagine doing what you want, when you want, with whom you want,  for as long as you want, without having to answer to anyone unless you choose to. The mental toughness/critical thinking question is, is this a realistic goal? My position is that mental toughness makes it possible. By studying the thought processes, habit’s and philosophies of the great ones and copying them, I think this is a completely

Mental Toughness Secret of Champions: Objective vs. Subjective Reality

While the masses operate primarily on a subjective model of the world, champions see life through the eyes of objective reality. This strategic advantage is one of the mental toughness secrets of the world class which is rarely talked about. Have a serious look at your life with critical objectivity and you’ll see exactly what you need to do to get what you want. The average thinker allows emotion to cloud their judgement in their personal analysis of themselves and their results. Take stock of your results in every area of your life and objectify yourself as performance machine producing results.

Note to Washington: Get Mentally Tough and Compartmentalize Sex Scandals

Mental Toughness is about thinking thoughts that serve your best interests and eliminating thoughts that don’t. Compartmentalization is the ability to isolate your thinking and direct your mental energy toward one problem at a time. I love America, and I’ve always been a great fan of our political system, but as the world gets more complex and problems become more sophisticated, we need to upgrade our thinking and adjust how we approach foreign and domestic issues. American politicians have been involved in sex scandals since this country’s inception, and it’s never going away. The list is endless, but some of the

Mental Toughness Secret of Entrepreneurs: Systematic Desensitization

Great salespeople and entrepreneurs have used this little known psychological secret for years. It can make or break you as salesperson or entrepreneur. I’ve spoken about this phenomena onstage all over the world for 13 years, and only a small percentage of audience members have ever heard of it. If you’re struggling in business due to the fear of rejection, this post has the power to change your life. Am I exaggerating? Listen and decide for yourself. I’ll look forward to your comments.  Steve Siebold, CSP  (6:35)
