Terrorists are No Match for America’s Emotional Motivator

America is the melting pot of the world, yet all American’s seem to share the most powerful emotional motivator. This is what bin Laden and his band of thugs failed to recognize when they attacked. People have underestimated America for over 200 years because they don’t understand the collective consciousness of the country. It’s what makes America such a special place on the planet. With it, we have become the most prosperous nation in the history of civilization. Without it, we would be a middle of the road country. In mental toughness training, uncovering what drives you emotionally is one of the

Thoughts from My Interview with St. Maarten’s Most Famous Artist

I just returned from the crown jewell of the caribbean, St. Maarten, where I had an oppotunity to speak to world reknowned artist, Ruby Bute. As an art collector, I’ve admired her work for many years, but one of her painting’s made me think of all the people who approach me after my speeches with the same dream. This is a mental toughness secret many people over look, having no idea it’s one of the cornerstones of world-class success. ( 5:09 )

The Mental Programming of Organized Religion

Every time I deliver a speech on Mental Toughness, someone comes up to me and asks if it’s really possible to reprogram years of middle-class beliefs into world-class beliefs. The answer is yes, and the best example of programming in the history of the world is organized religion. Man made (not God made) religion has been used to control the masses through fear for hundreds of years. People are programmed to believe in whatever man made religion they’re born into and driven into lifelong, brainless obedience through the threat of burning in hell for eternity. This programming begins almost immediately after birth, and by the

Atlas Shrugged: Mental Toughness Masterpiece?

5o years ago Ayn Rand penned one of the most popular novels of the 20th century; Atlas Shrugged. This work has a cult-like following around the world, but is especially popular with entrepreneurs. Critics have spoken out against it for years and kept it out of the schools. If you’ve read this Mental Toughness Masterpiece, I’d like to hear your comments on the impact it had on your life. If you haven’t, do yourself a favor and read it or listen to it on CD. Whether you love or hate it, this is one of the most important books ever written and it deserves a place

My Interview with Howard Crosby

I caught up with world-class entrepreneur Howard Crosby in South America last week, and he offered some great advice on success. Mr. Crosby is the nephew of the great Bing Crosby, who entertained more people through his music than Elvis and the Beatles. As an entrepreneur in the mining industry, Howard Crosby believes in the mental toughness philosophy as a catalyst for success. This post describes two key factors of his success you can use immediately. I look forward to your comments.  ( 4:31 )

American Politicians: Power Freaks or Patriots?

I just heard a speech by Commander Wiz Withers where he talked about the true meaning of patriotism. This guys great-great-great-great grandfather fought alongside George Washington in the American Revolution. Another relative fought in the Civil War. His brother defended America in Vietnam, and Wiz Withers himself fought in the Gulf War. This family has paid more than it’s share of the price for the freedom we Americans enjoy, and that’s why I was so excited to hear his speech. In Mental Toughness Training, we talk alot about Middle Class Thinking versus World Class Thinking, and every American I know has strong opinions

Bob Proctor’s comments to me backstage in Mexico

Bob Proctor, co-star of hit movie, The Secret,  said something onstage last week in Mexico I’ll never forget. The next day we were talking backstage in the green room about his speech, and he gave me some more unforgettable advice. You might have guessed that the topic was money, and I’m pretty sure some of you are going to be offended by this post. I heard Bob talk about this concept back in 1996, and honestly, I didn’t know what to think. I’ve learned a lot since then, and I’ve come to agree with this philosophy 100%. If Mental Toughness is about anything,

Mental Toughness Lesson from an advisor to the President of the United States

More lessons I learned on the Bob Proctor Cruise last week in Mexico. Doug Wead has been a friend of mine since 2001, when he asked Bill Gove and I to serve on the National Charity Awards Dinner Committee chaired by President Bush. Mr. Wead has been an advisor to U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. Doug delivered a magnificent speech on the cruise and gave us a great lesson in Mental Toughness. www.dougwead.com ( 3:53 )
