Watch this post for some potential critical thinking solutions to America’s biggest problems and see what you think. Mental Toughness from America’s Founders

The story of America’s founding fathers is an amazing example of what can be accomplished through mental toughness. While George Washington gets much of the credit for winning the war and leading the country, many historians say it was John Adams who was the driving force behind the revolution. John Adams is mostly known for being the second President of the United States, but the truth is he was much more than that. Adam’s mental toughness and ferocious tenacity combined with Thomas Jefferson’s social polish and ability to write and speak with world-class eloquence was a force to be reckowned with until the two best

World’s Toughest Businesspeople

I’ve addressed hundreds of thousands of sales people in speeches over the past 14 years, and the most common question I get is: which group of businesspeople is the most mentally tough? For 14 years, I’ve politely declined to answer the question…until today. There’s one profession that stands above the rest when it comes to mental toughness. These people take more mental and emotional abuse than all others put together, yet they continue driving forward toward their goals and dreams. Many of them start out with nothing but a big dream in their heart and the mental toughness to do whatever

Mental Toughness and NonLinear Thinking

While all of us were trained in school to think in logical, linear terms, we all know nonlinear thinking is the real secret to complex problem solving. The wealthy use it to get richer; politicians use it to get elected, and world-class thinkers use it to get what they want. Training your mind to create nonlinear solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems is one of the most challenging aspects of the mental toughness process. It’s also one of the most valuable and profitable. This single skill made a multimillionaire at a fairly young age, and it’s something anyone can learn. Watch this

Siebold’s European Speaking Tour

On a recent speaking tour in Europe, I was interviewed on the BBC five times in one week. Some of my comments regarding Prime Minister Gordon Brown ended up on the front page of the Daily Mirror Newspaper. The British press was wild, but fair. This short video post, taped outside the All England Tennis Club in London, is about identifying your world-class dream. Please share your world-class dream with the Mental Toughness Blog Community after you watch this post.   Steve Siebold [media id=19]

My Battle with Glenn Beck

In mental toughness training, we talk about the importance of logic-based, rational thinking devoid of emotion. Political pundit and talk radio host turned TV superstar Glenn Beck appears to be a serious student of U.S. History, but can’t seem to remove emotion from his decision making process. Yesterday I wrote a letter to Mr. Beck asking him to please stop blending his political comments with his religious beliefs. Invoking God and organized religion into an argument on the current administrations policies clouds the message and damages the credibility of the thought leader. I asked Mr. Beck to reserve his religious beliefs

Larry Wilson: Pioneer of Personal Growth

In 1959 Larry Wilson was a 29-year old hotshot in the life insurance industry, becoming the youngest member of the Million-Dollar Round Table. That same year Larry spotted a used book on a table outside of a bookstore. The book was by Dr. Abraham Maslow, the father of humanistic psychology and the creator of the famous Hierarchy of Needs. Larry read the book and was so fascinated with Maslow’s philosophy that he contacted him at Brandeis University. Dr. Maslow invited Larry to visit him, and the day they spent together inspired Larry to start Wilson Learning  in 1960, which eventually become

Steve Siebold on NBC-TV Australia

This is a television interview I did recently in Sydney, Australia, via satellite from the NBC affiliate in Atlanta. This is one of the most popular shows in Australia. As you can see, no matter how serious the topic, the Aussies always like to have a good time. I’ve done several speaking tours in Australia over the years, and they are among my favorite audiences in the world.    Steve Siebold  (4:30) [media id=16]

Millionaires Secret

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the last post. It was a great debate. I appreciate everyone’s passion and enthusiasm. Isn’t it great that thinkers have a place to express our opinions in a strong, yet respectable manner? Thanks for having the courage to sound off, no matter which side of the argument you were on. This post is a little lighter, yet important mental toughness strategy of millionaires. I’ve taught this exercise to tens of thousands of sales people and entrepreneurs all over the world, and it’s one of the most popular segments of the Mental Toughness University process. Watch
