Around 1300, there lived a man by the name of William Ockham. He was an English friar, theologian, and philosopher. He gave some advice that is still being followed today not only in business but in all facets of our lives. It became known as Ockham’s Razor and you have continued to pass along his advice again today. Ockham said the more steps, the more effort, the more complicated, the less likely it is to produce a result. He said keep it simple. So did Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs. And add Steve Siebold to the list. I often refer to William Ockham in my presentations to make the point that the complicated can be made simple and a goal will be accomplished. Thanks and have a great day.
Good story. Thanks, Harry!
Around 1300, there lived a man by the name of William Ockham. He was an English friar, theologian, and philosopher. He gave some advice that became known as Ockham’s Razor and as you just addressed continues in today’s world. He said that the more steps, the more effort, the more complicated a project is, the less likely it will ever be carried out and produce benefits. He said simple is always better. So did Albert Einstein and so did Steve Jobs. If this advice has worked for 700 years, then keep on with this message. I often refer to William Ockham in my presentations. It makes people see that a monumental task can be reduced down to managable segments. Thanks and have a great day.
Thanks Steve…Secret #10, appreciate the advise, taking it to heart.
Love how you distill concepts to simple action steps.
