In the wealthiest countries in the world, why do most people struggle with money? Is it the economy? The job market? The pandemic? The political climate? The simple answer is no. Studies show that most people have a deep seated belief that making large sums of money is wrong, self-centered and even sacrilegious. This anti-success programming begins in early childhood and continues throughout most people’s lives, and many are not even aware of it. In movies, TV and in the media, the wealthy are often portrayed as greedy, narcissistic, and ruthless. The truth is that the self-made rich are much like the rest of us; meaning that most are nice and some are not. Watch this short video on getting mentally tough about money.

Excellent post Steve especially the points about approach avoidance and consciousness being contagious. I’ve had the opportunity to spend significant time around tremendously successful people and FAITH, not necessarily associated with religious theology, but belief that doesn’t rest upon logical or material evidence followed by inspired action is the running theme. Unfortunately I’ve seen a lot of good people give into the fear and the auto programming of seeking comfort rather than being comfortable being uncomfortable.
Thanks for your comment, Barry!
