America is drowning in a cesspool of extremism. Suddenly, making wild claims, conspiracy theories and accusations no longer requires a shred of evidence. Politcal leaders, traditional media pundits and social media influencers have become emboldened enough to make things up and convince a significant, poorly educated percentage of population that their lie is true. And it doesn’t seem to matter how extreme the lie or how large the conspiracy; these people will believe almost anything. This is happening on both sides of the political isle, from both liberals and conservatives. The answer is finding our ideological middle ground, and while it may seem impossible, it’s the only way America will survive. Same with Putins war on Ukraine. Putin must know by now that he’s in a no-win situation. The west won’t tolerate his terror beyond Ukraines border, and the use of nuclear weapons would destroy the world. It seems that Critical Thinking, both in America and around the world, is on hiatus, and at the same time on multiple fronts. Watch this 6-minute video as I wade through current events to make this point, and I’d love to hear your point of view in the comments.

  1. Right on Steve… It’s been my opinion that those on the extreme ends of the spectrum are hiding, as cowards, behind their justifications – “the right to bear arms” and “strict gun control will stop violence in America.” As long as they hold dear to these principles, nothing will be done. As for myself, I have not mustered the courage to come out and make a public statement as you have in this video. So thank you for having the cajones to post this! What I would see as an act of courage is for those on the extreme right and left to meet and build solutions based on common interests… such as we all want to leave the world a better place for generations to come, founded on our common principle of freedom. Will it happen? Perhaps… if more like you would step up and call it what it is… a war based on principle mired in disillusion.
