Do You Have The Mental Toughness to Live Your Dream?

By

Over the past 18 years as a full-time professional speaker, I’ve worked with most of of the top thought leaders in the personal development space. My conclusion today is the same as it was back in 1996: Mental Toughness, the ability to control and manipulate your emotions combined with iron-like persistence, is the key to the world-class success. In my mind, that’s a given. The critical thinking question we all have to ask ourselves is; “do I have the mental toughness to get what I really want out of life?” Not what you’ll settle for, but what you actually want. Watch this short video I taped at the Civil War Battlefield at Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia, where one of the bloodiest battles of the civil war was fought. I’ll look forward to your comments.

Hey Steve, I watched the mental toughness video that you filmed in Georgia. And I must say you gave me a wake up call to challenge my own mental toughness. I realize now that it is never too late to get started and make my dreams become a reality and enjoy the success and wealth that i once thought was obtainable only by luck, chance and only people with connections in life. It was a ” light bulb” moment for me in realizing that I am mentally tougher than I have given myself credit for. And with my own mental ability/ toughness, I can acheive my goals and not just based on luck. It’s been a new day for me now ever since reading your book ” How Rich People Think” and especially the video filmed on the battlefield location in Georgia. Thanks Steve and I look forwward to reporting back mega success! Ray

I have the mental toughness to live my dreams, and I have not yet employed it.

“It’s amazing how strong we actually are when we’re tested”. So true. Some tests I’d much rather not take but sometimes we have no choice. Great mental toughness message Steve. Thank you.

Thanks, Steve, that is an important message for me. I’ve always thought of myself as lacking in mental toughness – but now… maybe not, after all I’ve come through some pretty tough situations, and learned from them , too..

  5. Great metaphor to make your point.

    Perfect. That says it all.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for posting your latest mental toughness video. I have been wondering about my own level of mental toughness this week as we slog towards the end of a long, humid-but-persistently-rainy summer here in Hiroshima, Japan, where dozens of people have lost their lives in the recent rain-induced landslides.

Of course, there is the history of rebuilding this city that speaks of mental toughness here too.

Anyway, thanks for reminding us that we have more mental toughness than we often realize and that the key is to tap into it. Discipline and focus are the keys, I think…

    All the best,

    David Hurley
