Are You In Momentum?

By

Momentum creates success; and success creates more momentum. It’s the secret of the upward spiral of success, and one of the reasons the rich get richer. The critical thinking question is, do you have enough psychological momentum in your life to get what you want? Watch this short video I taped on the beach in Costa Rica and I’ll look forward to your comments.

  1. Steve –

In helicopters, the flight regime requiring the greatest engine power is a high hover – all thrust is directed to overcoming gravity, to lift the 6-ton machine into the air.

However, in high-speed forward flight, the thrust required is much less, because the aircraft is creating lift which partially offsets gravity.

Forward flight, then, is just like momentum. The more ya got, the easier and faster it is to get where yer goin!

Whenever my motivation gets low I tell myself: “Either you go for it or you don’t. There is no middle ground.”

  3. Mine has the feeling of perpetual motion with each day feeding into the next. Problem solving and creative thinking play a big part in my momentum as well as vision.

  4. Momentum is a natural and wonderful phenomenon that most people miss. The reason they miss is very simple. It could be because their focus is in the wrong places. I have witnessed people spending too much time and energy focusing on themselves. They are so focused on their personal status within a system they miss the opportunity to see the success of the group that promotes their success. One way to create some natural momentum is to have the entire group create success and be the one in a leadership position.

  5. I’ve found out that once I build even a little bit of it, it will actually pull me along. Say I compete in a Toastmasters speech contest; I work hard and I win. Now I’m obligated to compete at the next level, my mentors are offering me feedback, and I have people I know offering to let me be a guest speaker at their club. Or, I release an app; I put my heart into it and it gets downloads. Now my users are asking me for updates and similar apps, my colleagues are giving me leads on more work, and recruiters are contacting me. I’d have to actively go against all that if I wanted to slack off!

    Hey Steve–
Costa Rica, that is where I have built my best momentum for sure. Sometimes if the waves are not big enough where you are you have to look elsewhere?
One thing I have noticed is you can’t always get a good judgement of your progress when looking back only a week or month–sometimes you have to look back a little further to get a real perspective of where you started and where you are now. And the most important thing I have learned is I need to keep doing what I need to do and at some point that momentum stops increasing at the same rate and reaches critical mass and my success is even more than I had set goals for.
Of course when you look back over a period that is long enough and find your results are not what you need it may be time to shift gears and do something different.

I had 5 copies of 177 and now down to 4 copies ( gave 1 away ) and yes, thank you steve s. momentum = habit.

  8. Patrick Edwards says:

Do I have it? No not yet, am I building it? Damn strait. Since I picked up 177 MTSOTWC, a couple years ago, I have been building it day by day. The programming that was there keeping me from starting that momentum has been torn down, and now I’m creating the momentum I want.

  9. Lisa Gough says:

Do I have the momentum it takes to make my first million? Great critical thinking question for me today. Yes. I believe I’m taking the steps necessary to develop a World Class mindset regarding money. Attracting it, being in relationship with it and teaching others to do the same. Reading How Rich People Think and being on our Think Rich Team is really the answer for me. Through your philosophy of Mental Toughness University and your teachings, I am training my brain to be world class in every aspect of my life. I look forward to making my first million and I believe I have great momentum started to achieve that dream. Thank you Steve for all you do for all of us! We need you for sure and we’re so glad you’re here! 🙂

Still in the process. Making tweaks and proper changes, but on the right path.
