In Ayn Rand’s famous novel ” The Fountainhead” she talks about living what she calls an “unrestricted existence”. I read this years ago and it became the centerpiece of my life’s vision. Imagine doing what you want, when you want, with whom you want,  for as long as you want, without having to answer to anyone unless you choose to. The mental toughness/critical thinking question is, is this a realistic goal? My position is that mental toughness makes it possible. By studying the thought processes, habit’s and philosophies of the great ones and copying them, I think this is a completely realistic goal. Listen to this post and see what you think. I’ll look forward to your comments.  Steve Siebold  ( 3:00 )

While the masses operate primarily on a subjective model of the world, champions see life through the eyes of objective reality. This strategic advantage is one of the mental toughness secrets of the world class which is rarely talked about. Have a serious look at your life with critical objectivity and you’ll see exactly what you need to do to get what you want. The average thinker allows emotion to cloud their judgement in their personal analysis of themselves and their results. Take stock of your results in every area of your life and objectify yourself as performance machine producing results. What does the machine need to do or change to get to the next level? Listen to this post for more information and then go to work on yourself. If you can see yourself and your performance objectively, you will create a road map to success very few people even understand. Is there REALLY a difference in thinking between the middle and world class; between the wannabes and the champions? You bet there is, and this is one of them.

Mental Toughness is about thinking thoughts that serve your best interests and eliminating thoughts that don’t. Compartmentalization is the ability to isolate your thinking and direct your mental energy toward one problem at a time. I love America, and I’ve always been a great fan of our political system, but as the world gets more complex and problems become more sophisticated, we need to upgrade our thinking and adjust how we approach foreign and domestic issues. American politicians have been involved in sex scandals since this country’s inception, and it’s never going away. The list is endless, but some of the most recent violators to be burned at the political/sexual stake are President Bill Clinton, Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Presidential hopeful and former Senator John Edwards, New York Governor Elliot Spitzer, and the most recent, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. If I started back with George Washington this post would be 20 pages long! (Don’t forget President  John F.  Kennedy) My point: It’s time to grow up, America. Politicians are elected to govern, make laws, create and enforce public policy and lead the country. I’m not condoning their private behavior nor do  care what they do off the clock. Governor Mark Sanford has to anwer to his wife and family, and I have a feeling he’ll have his hands full doing that. Meanwhile, we’re in the middle of TWO WARS and the WORST economy since the great depression. If you want to hold politicians to a higher standard, lets focus the pressure on solving the challenges we’re facing as a nation, and let’s leave the moral issues to the families. Listen to this post and see if you agree. I’ll look forward to your comments. Steve Siebold  ( 5:30)
