American Politicians: Power Freaks or Patriots?
Posted by: | CommentsI just heard a speech by Commander Wiz Withers where he talked about the true meaning of patriotism. This guys great-great-great-great grandfather fought alongside George Washington in the American Revolution. Another relative fought in the Civil War. His brother defended America in Vietnam, and Wiz Withers himself fought in the Gulf War. This family has paid more than it’s share of the price for the freedom we Americans enjoy, and that’s why I was so excited to hear his speech. In Mental Toughness Training, we talk alot about Middle Class Thinking versus World Class Thinking, and every American I know has strong opinions about our political leaders. Especially since George Bush has been President and invaded Iraq. The masses love to beat up political leaders on both sides of the aisle, and I’m not saying they shouldn’t. But is their thinking more middle class or world class? Commander Wiz Withers has a new blog you should check out if you’re interested in the lessons of military leadership. With five generations of patriots in his family, this gentleman knows what he’s talking about. www.militaryleadershipblog.com As always, I can’t wait to read YOUR comments. ( 4:24 )
Bob Proctor’s comments to me backstage in Mexico
Posted by: | Comments- Bob Proctor, co-star of hit movie, The Secret, said something onstage last week in Mexico I’ll never forget. The next day we were talking backstage in the green room about his speech, and he gave me some more unforgettable advice. You might have guessed that the topic was money, and I’m pretty sure some of you are going to be offended by this post. I heard Bob talk about this concept back in 1996, and honestly, I didn’t know what to think. I’ve learned a lot since then, and I’ve come to agree with this philosophy 100%. If Mental Toughness is about anything, it’s about being open minded enough to consider the opinions of people getting world-class results in their chosen field. Bob Proctor’s been a good friend and mentor of mine for the last 12 years, and I can assure you he’s getting world-class results! It’s like I told the audience last week, Mr. Proctor is the real deal. And as my late business partner, Bill Gove, used to say; he’s one of the good guys! So the gloves are coming off with this one. All comments, for or against, as always, are welcome. Mental toughness is about critical thinking, and I want to know what YOU think. ( 3:32 )
Mental Toughness Lesson from an advisor to the President of the United States
Posted by: | CommentsMore lessons I learned on the Bob Proctor Cruise last week in Mexico. Doug Wead has been a friend of mine since 2001, when he asked Bill Gove and I to serve on the National Charity Awards Dinner Committee chaired by President Bush. Mr. Wead has been an advisor to U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. Doug delivered a magnificent speech on the cruise and gave us a great lesson in Mental Toughness. www.dougwead.com ( 3:53 )
The Million Dollar Skill
Posted by: | CommentsI just returned from a speaking engagement in Mexico with The Secrets Bob Proctor; Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Mark Victor Hansen; and White House Presidential advisor Doug Wead. Along with sharing some of the Mental Toughness Training Secrets, I challenged the audience to learn and use the million dollar skill most entrepreneurs and business people avoid. I even asked Mark Victor Hansen, who was sitting in the front row during my speech, if he could imagine building his Chicken Soup empire without this skill? Of course Mark nodded no. Nearly every multi-millioniare businessperson I’ve ever interviewed speaks with awe and reverence for this skill. For futher research on this post, visit, www.speechworkshop.com (4:55)
The Mentally Tortured Dog Sled Champion
Posted by: | CommentsI recently interviewed one of the top sled dog racing champions in the world on a glacier near Skagway, Alaska. Like a lot of people who are champions in their field but struggling financially, this guy is much closer to massive success then he realizes. He’s been listening to middle-class thinkers for years telling him to grow up and get a real job, and it’s been torturing him. My advice was different. Listen to this post and see if you agree with what I told him. I’d love to hear YOUR opinion on this key aspect of world-class success and happiness. (4:21 )
The Secret: Fact or Fantasy?
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve been bombarded by Fortune 500 sales audiences all year long about the best selling book and movie, The Secret. Everyone, including celebrities, seems to have strong opinions on it. Oprah loved it, Bill Maher laughed at it. Ellen Degeneres and Larry King raved about it, Saturday Night LIVE did a parody on it. Deepak Chopra trashed it on national television while other authors promoted it. What is it about the ancient law of attraction that causes so much controversey? I’m headed to Mexico later this week to speak on a cruise ship with two stars of the movie, Bob Proctor and Michael Beckwith, so I thought it was time I weighed in on this one. I’d love to hear YOUR comments on this post. Tell us what YOU think about the most successful movie in the history of the personal development movement. ( 3:12 )
